Welcome

"They say photographers see the world differently than most people. My love for the outdoors and my desire to share the beauty I see drives me to take unique photographs of the world around us. Using the 35 mm format and color slide film, I try to capture the play of light on the subject and the emotion of the scene to create a unique, restful image that stirs a fond memory, a warm feeling, a sense of well being or a moment of peace for the viewer."

Born in 1954 in Hicksville, New York, Don Browning's interest in photography didn't develop until he was in his 40s. Don explains " I love spending time in the outdoors and in 1995 I started bringing my camera along to memorialize my adventures. By reading a lot of books on photography, trial and error and with the encouragement of friends and family, I taught myself the art of scenic photography. I am still learning and I still amaze myself with how much I grow as an artist with every adventure."

Don started showing his photographs publicly in 2001, has exhibited his works in over 65 juried art shows and has won several awards for his work. His photographs have been displayed in the nationally juried gallery exhibition "Barns and Farms" held in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institute's "Barn's Again" exhibit. Don also has photographs hanging in corporate and municiple offices internationally as well as in many homes across the U.S.
